ALFANO (2) ran below expectations last time at this track, finishing fifth and beaten 5 lengths starting at $3. Has the talent to find the winners' list. REGAL ROCKET (7) doesn't boast the best winning strike rate but ran a nice race last time out, finishing fourth and beaten only 1.1 lengths over 1400m at Penong. Meeting a tougher field but on his best form he is one of the key runners. SHORT STORIES (10) progressed nicely last start to finish a close second over 1400m at Penong after missing the placings at the previous appearance. Looks to be in the right race so another bold effort is on the cards.
