BILLY BOOM (5) gave away a big start and never came on when resuming last start, finishing fifth and beaten 6 lengths over 1200m at Sunshine Coast. Tackling a more suitable race this time so he is a major player. CAPRICORNUS (1) showed good early speed last start on debut and fought on well to hold third, beaten 2 lengths, over 1050m at Mackay. Big chance based on that effort. STARWARD (2) has two placings from three runs this preparation, most recently finishing third as favourite over 1200m at Sunshine Coast after being well positioned to strike on the bend. Has the advantage of a good draw. Nicely placed to atone. WARHOL (3) is a three-year-old gelding who is having his first run for the Tom F Smith yard and gelded since last run. Hasn't raced since finishing seventh at Kembla Grange nine months ago. Ran fourth in a trial at Rockhampton over 1000m and looks nicely placed. Can run a bold race.
