betr ID Verification

Learn about why ID verification is necessary and how you can verify your betr ID.

betr will need to verify your identity before you can register an account. If we can't verify your information, you won't be able to complete account registration until it's all sorted out.

How to Verify Your Account Online? (accounts opened prior to 29/09/2024)

  • Log into betr (Web/App) and navigate to the Account section.
  • Then Click on My Details.
  • From My Details page Click on Verify.
  • From the verification list choose your preferred ID option.
  • Complete your personal details form.
  • Make sure you click on the checkbox at the bottom.
  • Then Click on the Verify These Details button.

    • If you are unable to complete the online verification option, you can take a photo of yourself, holding the accepted document, as per the example below, and email to [email protected]

Card verification is an important part of our anti-credit card fraud security measures. betr needs to verify you are the true cardholder.

We currently offer the following options to verify your debit card:

CardFlow (online)

We can verify your card in 3 simple steps. betr partners with Australian service CardFlow to verify your card easily and securely. This will not divulge any other financial or transactional information as CardFlow never shares account balances or transaction information. This does, however, mean less paperwork and less fuss. To use this option, navigate to the Deposit page and select Verify Your Card With CardFlow Here.

You can send a photo of yourself (a selfie) holding the card used to fund your betr account. To achieve this requirement securely, please ensure the middle numbers of your card have been 'blanked out'. We only require the first 4 and last 4 numbers to be visible, as well as your full name and the expiry date of the card. Please ensure the quality of the picture is of the highest standard and all relevant information is legible.

Documents we accept

betr will require you to send us one of the below:

  • Licence or permit issued under a law of a State or Territory or equivalent authority of a foreign country for the purpose of driving a vehicle that contains a photograph of the person in whose name the document is issued.
  • A passport issued by the Commonwealth.
  • A passport or a similar document issued for the purpose of international travel, that contains a photograph and either:
    1. The signature of the person in whose name the document is issued
    2. Any unique identifier of the person in whose name the document is issued
  • A passport issued by a foreign government, the United Nations, or an agency of the United Nations.
  • A card issued under a law of a State or Territory for the purpose of proving the person’s age which contains a photograph of the person in whose name the document is issued.
  • A national identity card issued for the purpose of identification, that contains a photograph and either:
    1. The signature of the person in whose name the document is issued. OR
    2. Any unique identifier of the person in whose name the document is issued.
