DOLLAR CHASER (2) finished out of the money two starts back then was beaten 2.25 lengths when seventh over 1200m at Caulfield three weeks ago. Has his share of talent. Hard to beat in this suitable race. BARBARIC LAD (7) did his best work late and finished 1.5 lengths from the winner in fourth last start over 1200m at Caulfield, an improvement on his fifth at Caulfield the run before. Well placed and there is no reason he cannot find winning ways. BOLD RESPONSE (10) showed good early muster and fought on to finish second last start over 1200m at Cranbourne. Has the speed to overcome a wide draw. This looks a sterner test than last time but on his best form he is one of the chief contenders. PRIMAL SPIRIT (4) showed good early speed over 1200m at Sandown-Lakeside last time and went on to salute by a head. Has been in sound form this prep with three wins from six starts. Can sneak into the finish.
