IL CUBO (1) showed good early dash last start and held on well to finish 1.5 lengths back in third over 1300m at Cranbourne. Won't find this as tough so he is one of the primary contenders. GIN BABA (10) registered a strong win at Ararat two runs ago. Decent effort last time out when second over 1300m at Cranbourne, beaten half a length. Finds a suitable assignment and can rediscover winning form. ALTRUIST (5) was prominent in the run and gave a big sight when third over 1200m at Seymour just nine days ago. Tricky draw to overcome but must go in the numbers. BRULANTE (9) was out of the money when resuming from a spell last start over 1300m at Cranbourne, beaten 3.5 lengths after being prominent at the bend. Fitter so expect a better run this time.
