KHABALOV (7) finished fourth when resuming two runs back then did a good job last start but found a couple better over 1590m at Wangaratta, beaten only 1.2 lengths after being in contention on the turn. Looks well placed so expect another big run. SHOW OF GOLD (4) is yet to break through after seven starts. Placed two back then last time out was fourth, beaten 1.3 lengths, over 1400m at Pakenham. Has the addition of blinkers. Overdue and looks well placed to break the ice. STARWEDGE (5) is a two-start maiden who returned last time and finished sixth at Terang over 1400m, beaten 3.5 lengths. Definite top-three hope with plenty of improvement to come. MISS PEPEHA (8) is a six-start maiden who finished sixth, beaten 7 lengths, when resuming from a spell last start over 1400m at Pakenham. Will derive great benefit from that outing and deserves consideration.
