FIRST MAN (2) resumed from a spell last start with a sound second over 1400m at Gold Coast when he worked home well. Meeting a deeper field this time but he deserves his chance. FRENCH RIVIERA (13) is yet to break through in six runs but has been thereabouts. Placed two back then was 3.5 lengths away in fifth over 1200m at Gold Coast Poly last time. Well placed here and among the winning hopes. BOROGORU (10) is yet to break through but has been in the money two times including last start when third over 1400m at Gold Coast. Has a solid record at this journey, finishing in the money on two occasions. Harder here but can figure in the finish.
