WANAVAN (6) turned in a strong performance first-up when in the money at Muswellbrook but disappointed last time when seventh, beaten 9 lengths, at Scone over 1000m after being in contention on the bend. Will enjoy a drop in class so he is one of the main contenders. BEST DEFENCE (1) again failed to feature last start, finishing sixth and beaten 2.5 lengths over 900m at Wellington. Has the pace to be in a prominent position from the outset. Expecting a bold showing. IMASTATEMENT (11) raced once in the maiden preparation when eighth at this track over 1000m back on October 4. Better for that run and can improve sharply. I'M OPINIONATED (10) didn't make an impact at her last run before going for a spell on 28/01/2025, finishing eighth and beaten 14 lengths over 1100m at Armidale. Looks a strong top-three prospect.
