WINCHMAN (8) has three placings from five runs this preparation, most recently finishing second as favourite over 1200m at Kilcoy after being prominent at the turn. Has a low draw. Big run on the cards. NO BRAKES (5) made late ground and finished third last time over 1200m at Sunshine Coast, beaten 2.5 lengths. Meets some better types this time but this looks well within his grasp. RUINS OF ROME (12) resumes from a spell of five months. Looked close to a win before that break, finishing off with a minor placing over 1350m at Ipswich. Looks ready to run following a minor placing in a recent Doomben trial. Has ability so don't underestimate.
