BAYCAT (9) showed good early muster and fought on to finish second last start over 1203m at Kyneton. Suitably placed so anticipating another big run. NEAR NELSON (15) returns after ten months in the paddock. Closed the last campaign with a fifth over 1200m at Wodonga. Ran fifth in a recent trial at Pakenham. Rates highly and is a strong chance to break through. TOMMYESS (8) produced a nice effort on debut in better company last start over 1210m at Sale when third, beaten 3 lengths. Promising type with improvement to come so he is among the leading chances. LES BRAVES (4) faced the starter for the first time and finished sixth last start at Sale over 1210m, beaten 4.5 lengths. Can improve sharply.
