HOLDOUT (5) turned in a nice effort to score two runs ago at Ascot. Couldn't follow that up last time out when 12th over 2100m at Ascot, beaten 18 lengths. Finds a suitable race and can return to winning ways. THE CANDY KID (9) has been thereabouts recently, the latest result a fifth beaten 2.25 lengths at Esperance over 1600m. Has an outside gate but looks well placed to break through. TOP OF THE POPS (1) was beaten for early speed and didn't come into contention when a disappointing eighth over 1400m at Ascot most recently. Ideally placed and is sure to give this a mighty shake. JOLLY LACE (7) missed the placings two runs back then improved last start but found one better over 1720m at this track, beaten 2.5 lengths. Has her share of ability. Hard to beat in this suitable race.
