MR SHORTY (8) made a nice return two back then met with solid backing but disappointed when sixth over 1600m at this track three weeks ago. In a nice race and deserves another chance. AFRICAN PIONEER (3) resumed over 1400m last time out and turned in a solid effort to finish sixth at Ballarat after he was well back on straightening. Has a liking for this longer trip. Expected to run well. MINAMISHIMA (9) was thereabouts last time out when third at this track over 1600m, beaten half a length. Cherry-ripe now. Sure to go well. DARTBOARD (6) was out of the money when resuming from a spell last start over 1400m at Ballarat, beaten 2.75 lengths. Fitter so anticipating a better run this time.
