A MANDARIN (9) missed the placings two runs back then didn't feature last start when 10 lengths away in ninth over 2200m at Wingatui. Won't find this as tough so she is one of the main contenders. XRATED (2) finished third at Gore two runs back but was less effective last time over 2600m at Riccarton Park, finishing 26 lengths back in 11th. Finds a suitable assignment and can get the job done. QUICK CALL (5) was beaten for early speed but hit the line nicely when third over 2200m at Wingatui nine days ago. Good effort last start and is a winning chance. SHORT (6) was below his best last time when 13th over 2000m at Gore, beaten 18 lengths. Nicely placed to turn things around.
