PRECIOUS SPARTAN (7) finished 8 lengths from the winner in fourth last start after being in the firing line on the turn over 1400m at Newcastle All Weather, an improvement on his first-up eighth at Newcastle All Weather the run before. Nicely placed to get the prize. SPIRIT OF MURRAY (9) returned from a spell two-and-a-half weeks ago when he was beaten 25 lengths into sixth over 2040m at Newcastle All Weather. This doesn't look as hard so he is a key runner. SALARIA (1) ran below expectations last start, finishing fifth and beaten 4.5 lengths at Newcastle All Weather over 1600m. Finds a nice race and can atone.
