HICKORY JACK (2) drifted well back and failed to finish it off last start when sixth, beaten 6 lengths, over 1650m at Waverley. Has his share of talent. Hard to beat in this suitable race. CHARLOTTE'S WAY (4) did little and finished 4.5 lengths from the winner in ninth over 1400m at Waverley last start, a less impressive effort than her fourth at Otaki the run before. Has the ability to take care of this field. SONATA (6) broke her maiden last start over 1400m at Taupo, scoring by 0.8 lengths. Is lightly raced and has plenty of scope for improvement. Re-unites with Ace Lawson-Carroll who was on board last start. Harder task ahead this time but can measure up. FRENCH DOLL (7) finished third at this track two runs back but was less effective last time over 1400m at Waverley, finishing 4.5 lengths back in seventh. Has her share of ability and can do a lot better.
