FORTIANS (2) is a seven-start maiden who could only manage to finish 11th at his latest appearance over 1200m at this track. Well placed on this occasion and gets his chance to break the ice. ROYAL DEFENSE (6) is a four-start maiden who finished second over 1000m at Gunnedah last time out after being prominent at the turn. Well placed and there is no reason he cannot find winning ways. STROMNESS (8) turned in a strong performance first-up when in the money at Tamworth but disappointed last time when seventh, beaten 6 lengths, at Cowra over 1200m. Nicely placed to bounce back.
