DESERT ANTHEM (2) finished out of the money when fresh from a spell two starts back then was beaten 1.2 lengths when sixth over 2000m at Wangaratta two weeks ago. Will enjoy a drop in class so he can find the winners' list. SUFFOLK STAR (5) improved last time out, finishing 2.5 lengths from the winner in third at the end of 2000m at Naracoorte after being in the firing line on the corner. Finds a tougher race but another big run is on the cards. BANNERTON (3) finished 8 lengths adrift in seventh last time over 2200m at Ararat in a disappointing performance. Best figures measure up nicely. Solid top-three prospects.
